The Lifelong Build: The Next Chapter for Christian Wessels and Jasper Graf von Hardenberg

After backing Daystar Power’s mission to close Africa’s energy gap, Endeavor is proud to support Christian Wessels and Jasper Graf von Hardenberg again—this time as they tackle the next frontier: decarbonising industrial logistics through Bisedge.

There is a common misconception that the entrepreneurial story is a linear climb toward a single peak: the exit. In reality, for the most ambitious founders, an exit is rarely a finish line. It’s a transition. Few stories reflect this more clearly than the entrepreneurial journey of Christian Wessels and Jasper Graf von Hardenberg.

When Christian and Jasper joined the Endeavor network at the 93rd International Selection Panel (ISP) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in February 2020, they were scaling Daystar Power. Their mission was clear and urgent: closing Africa’s energy gap by providing clean, reliable solar power to the industrial sector. They weren’t just building a company — they were proving that renewable energy could become a cornerstone of African economies.

In the years that followed, Daystar Power grew into one of Africa’s leading hybrid solar power providers. In 2022, Shell acquired the company — a milestone that marked a major moment not only for Daystar Power, but for the broader renewable energy ecosystem on the continent.

For Christian, the acquisition also represented something bigger than a successful outcome:

The exit to Shell served as a powerful proof of concept for the continent; it signaled to the broader ecosystem that renewable energy ventures in Africa are not just viable, but highly bankable.

As Jasper reflects:

Building Daystar Power was an incredible journey. We are proud to have cultivated a team of West Africa’s top energy talent and remain their biggest champions as they continue to innovate for the future.

For many founders, that would be the moment to step back. For Christian and Jasper, it was simply the end of the first act.

The Full Circle

Impact within our network has always been about more than a successful balance sheet. It’s about what founders do with their success — and what they choose to build, contribute, and enable next.

In 2023, Christian took a seat on the Endeavor Nigeria Board, becoming one of the first Endeavor Entrepreneurs in Nigeria to transition into this leadership role. It was a meaningful full-circle moment: by helping guide the organization that once vetted him, Christian moved from being supported by the ecosystem to helping strengthen it.

This is the pay-it-forward culture in its most tangible form — founders using hard-earned perspective to help clear the path for the next generation.

Building Again: A New Venture, A Deeper Perspective

True entrepreneurs rarely stay away from the work of creation for long. Christian and Jasper began building again, this time with Bisedge.

While Daystar Power focused on how companies get their power, Bisedge focuses on how they use it.

As the exclusive partner for Linde Material Handling in Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, and Tanzania, Bisedge is transitioning industrial clients from carbon-heavy diesel equipment to electric alternatives. The company delivers this through an end-to-end service model — leasing, maintenance, and operations — designed to de-risk the green transition for the continent’s largest industrial players.

Christian puts it simply:

We founded Bisedge to solve one of the most persistent challenges for African industrials: material handling. By combining world-class operations with electric machinery and digital intelligence, we deliver premier logistics services at industry-leading rates.

And for Jasper, building again has come with a different kind of intentionality:

As second-time founders, we are more deliberate in building the organisation, culture and processes that we want to see. We have the conviction that we can solve hard problems, while appreciating the sacrifice it requires.

In 2025, Christian and Jasper were selected as Endeavor Entrepreneurs for the second time — a reminder that at Endeavor, our commitment is to the entrepreneur’s long-term journey, not a single company chapter.

There is a specific maturity that comes with being a repeat founder. You see it in how they approach governance, the intentionality behind team culture, and a shift in how they define success. They aren’t just chasing growth; they are building for resilience. Bisedge reflects lessons learned through the complexities of the first scale-up, now applied to a new and equally vital challenge.

The Long Game

We often say we select entrepreneurs, not just companies. Christian and Jasper are a clear example of that philosophy in action. Our relationship with them has spanned ventures, market cycles, and multiple chapters of their careers.

Their story is a reminder that entrepreneurship is a lifelong craft. An exit can be an inflection point — a chance to reinvest capital, time, and wisdom back into the world.

As Endeavor Entrepreneur Deepankar Rustagi (OmniRetail) puts it:

An exit is not the end of the entrepreneurial journey — it is an inflection point. The most impactful founders reinvest their experience, capital, and conviction to build again and strengthen the ecosystem for those who follow.

We are proud to have been part of the Daystar Power story. We are honored to have Christian’s leadership on our Board. And we are excited to continue supporting Christian and Jasper as they scale Bisedge.

The journey continues.
